The kick-off meeting

On February 6th and 7th 2024, Frankfurt am Main hosted the kick-off meeting of the Ruraled project, marking a significant step in the purpose of revitalising Europe’s rural communities.
The meeting brought together IFLS, CESAR, AGRITOUR, ARDMORE and SMC HPHE, both in-person and online, setting the base for the project’s implementation. Partners from various sectors shared insights on potential challenges and strategies for overcoming them.
The discussions focused on the importance of a bottom-up approach for community engagement and the adaptation of educational content to rural settings.

Ruraled focuses on transforming rural areas into Smart Villages through enhanced education and innovative practices: the project aims to implement the Smart Villages Strategy by improving digital infrastructure, enhancing educational opportunities, and promoting sustainable practices in agriculture tailored to the needs of rural communities.

Looking ahead, the project plans to engage with local decision makers to gather information to help the project provide the right initiatives for specific community needs and pilot programs will be implemented to test the success of these innovative solutions.
The Ruraled project will maintain updated communication with the public, providing news on progress and inviting stakeholders to participate in the journey towards creating more resilient and prosperous rural communities.
