After discussing the survey results, the participants worked on the topics of “village life” and “supplies and work.” There were lively discussions at both stations, and numerous ideas for a sustainable future for Waldsolms were collected.
The “Village Life” discussion table focused on community, volunteer work, and cohesion. Among other things, participants wanted more networking opportunities that focus on togetherness, as well as intergenerational and inclusive sports and cultural activities. Creative approaches to strengthening volunteer work were also discussed, such as awards (e.g., “Village Caretaker of the Month”) and participation rights.
The “Supply and Work” theme table focused on key future issues relating to public services and the regional economy. Topics discussed included the supply of regional food, good healthcare, neighborhood assistance, local energy supply, and strengthening the local economy.
The workshop clearly demonstrated the high level of commitment and diversity of ideas in Waldsolms. The results will now be incorporated into the further development of the Smart Village Vision for Waldsolms. The aim is to use the ideas generated to draw up an action plan with specific projects and implement it together with the local population.
