RURALED Competence Self-Assessments
This is a self-assessment test designed for individuals or communities interested in the development of Smart Villages. It focuses on key competencies and skills that are essential for successful Smart Village development, including social and personal skills, organizational skills, and subject-specific knowledge. The competencies assessed in this test are based on several EU competence frameworks identified as relevant for Smart Village development. These include LifeComp, EntreComp, DigComp, GreenComp, and REDEAL. If any competencies are unclear or their relevance is uncertain, detailed descriptions can be found in the respective EU frameworks.
Participants can evaluate their own proficiency in certain competences and skills using a scale (basic, intermediate, advanced). The test can be used both by individuals who currently play or plan to play a significant role in Smart Village development, as well as by teams or groups to assess whether the necessary skills are represented within the group.
After completing the self-assessment, results will be calculated using a simple point system, whereby each skill gets one, two or three points, based on the level which was chosen (basic = 1, intermediate = 2, advanced = 3) (see again at the end of the test). The points will then be totaled for each of the three skill areas (social/personal skills, organizational skills, and subject knowledge) and categorized to identify the areas where participants are already strong and where improvement may be needed. This point system will help participants identify the next steps they should take to move forward in the Smart Village development process. These "next steps" could include seeking external help for specific tasks or pursuing further training in certain skills or knowledge areas. When completing the self-assessment, participants should consider their role in Smart Village development and reflect on the skills that are most relevant to their responsibilities. Based on this, they can evaluate their results and decide on the next steps to take.
